Mouth Watering Five Spice Stir Fry

  • 400 g Chicken or mushrooms cut into chunks
  • 1/2 tbsp Chinese five spice
  • pinch Salt
  • 1 Red pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 Onion sliced
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp Honey
  • Lime juice
  • 1 clove Garlic diced
  • 1 tsp Red chilli flakes


  • Mix chicken, five spice and a pinch of salt together.
  • Mix soy sauce, honey, lime, garlic and chilli flakes in a small bowl and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a large frying pan over a medium to high heat. Add Chicken and cook until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove from pan.
  • Add onions and cook for a few minutes. Then add red pepper and cook for a further 5 minutes. Add chicken back to pan.
  • Pour in soy sauce mixture and cook until sauce thickens.
  • Serve with either rice or noodles.


Try adding a sprinkle of sesame seeds to give your dish a decorative finish and a slight crunch.
