Hearty Hungarian Goulash
A Hungarian classic perfect for those cold Autumn nights.

- 400 g Beef chunks or mushrooms quartered
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 2 Onions sliced
- 2 Garlic cloves minced
- 1 Red pepper sliced
- 1 1/2 tbsp MKS goulash powder
- 500 ml Beef or veggie stock
- 400 g Tin of chopped tomatoes
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Marmite if following veggie option
Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celcius.
Heat oil in a large frying pan over a medium, high heat. Add the beef or mushrooms and brown all over.
Once browned, add the onions and cook down until soft and translucent. Follow with the garlic, red pepper and MKS Goulash powder.
Add tomato paste and cook for a further 2 minutes. Then pour in the tin of tomatoes, stock and marmite if using and bring to a light simmer.
Transfer this mix to a oven proof casserole dish, or put it straight in the oven if you are using an ovenproof pan.
Cook in the oven for 1hr 15 mins to 1 hr 30 mins.
Serve with a side of delicious rice.
