Easy Chilli Con Carne Recipe

  • 400 g Minced beef or vegetarian equivalent
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 Large onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic diced
  • 1 Red pepper diced
  • 1 tbsp MKS Chilli con carne powder
  • 400 ml Stock Beef/Veggie
  • 400 g Tin diced tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 Tin red kidney beans
  • 1 tbsp Marmite optional
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce


  • Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent. Then add the garlic, red pepper and Chilli Con Carne powder and cook for a further 2 minutes.
  • Add the beef or veggie equivalent and brown. Then add tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes. Keep stirring to prevent sticking.
  • Pour in diced tomatoes, stock and bring to a boil. Once boiling turn down to a gentle simmer.
  • Add marmite, red kidney beans and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 30-45 minutes until the sauce has reduced and thickened.
  • Leave to stand for 10 minutes to cool and release all flavours.
  • Serve with perfectly boiled rice.
