Jackfruit Shawarma Recipe

  • 1 Tin of jackfruit
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Shwarma seasoning
  • 1 Red onion diced
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • Lettuce to garnish
  • 4 Pittas or tortillas


  • Mix jackfruit and shawarma seasoning in a bowl to marinade.
  • Heat oil in a large frying pan. Saute onion until translucent and soft. Add Garlic and cook for a further 1 minute.
  • Add jackfruit and shawarma seasoning and stir to mix.
  • Cook until the jackfruit is soft and starting to brown.
  • Lightly heat pittas under grill being careful not to burn.
  • Fill each pitta with lettuce, and vegan shawarma mix.
  • Serve with your favourite dip or sauce. We recommend you try some sriracha mayo it goes perfectly together.
